Should I use a solicitor

Should I use a solicitor to buy property in Turkey?

At Bosphorus view we always advise our clients to use a solicitor in Turkey when buying a home in Turkey. The simple reason being – it saves you a ton of time, and makes your purchase process smooth and stress free.

Throughout our years of experience in the Turkish real estate market, we have found that almost all of the people who have found themselves victims of bad property deals – almost all did not use a registered Turkish solicitor to complete the real estate purchase. Buying a property is a big investment – why risk it by trying to cut corners

With our 10 plus years experience in the Turkish real estate market, we have come accustomed to very professional and experienced solicitors who we are always happy to refer you to. You can also find Arabic and English speaking and highly qualified Turkish solicitors working with our company.

What exactly does a solicitor do?

We recommend our clients to grant full power of attorney to the solicitor in order to complete the property purchase on your behalf. This saves you a lot of time and endless trips back and forth to Turkey.

If you provide the solicitor with power of attorney, the solicitor will check the following:

1. The solicitor will ensure that the title is clean, and check for any charges against the title and proper ISKAN (habitation certificate).

2. The solicitor will draft, finalise, and sign the approved property purchase contract on your behalf – saving you time.

3. Convert the title to your name and finalise all of the property purchase at the local title deed office on your behalf.

As you can see, hiring a solicitor and giving power of attorney to complete the real estate purchase on your behalf is a good idea. Your appointed solicitor will ensure that you don’t have to take needless trips back to Turkey in order to complete your purchase.
